Weeds Season 5: Episode 4
WEEDS SEASON 5: EPISODE 4
“SUPER LUCKY HAPPY”
Another great episode of Weeds! This show, I don’t care what anyone else thinks, just keeps getting better and better!! I don’t know if it’s the writing, the acting, or both.
Continuing where episode 3 left off, Esteban meets Nancy, and the rest of the family at the house after he calls them to say it’s OK to come home. Unfortunately, Esteban’s first meeting with Silas and Shane doesn’t go as well as planned:
Silas: “So you’re the mayor of Mexico or something?”
Esteban: “Or something, yes.”
Shane: “And you stuck your penis inside my mother at least once.”
Nancy: “Ok, then. Good night, Shane. Go upstairs.”
But, on the bright side, if you can call it that, Esteban got the pregnancy results back and he is absolutely thrilled that it’s a boy. And HIS boy. Not THEIR boy, right? And even after he threatened to kill Nancy, Esteban starts getting all lovey-dovey sticky sweet and offering to move Nancy and the boys–even Andy into his home. Nancy seems to be good with it. Then again, what choice does she have??
I thought this episode especially funny when Celia showed up at Nancy’s door begging to stay only to wind up having her booted out with all her stuff behind. Makes me kinda wonder why Celia wouldn’t just move back to Agrestic and just start her life over. It’s obvious that no one cares enough about her for her to stay.
One of my favorite scenes was when Andy gets zapped by Esteban’s thug, Ignacio, pissing his pants and ends up in the garage to work out dressed like he came right out of Olivia Newton John’s “Let’s Get Physical” video. As always, some great Andy segments in this episode, as Andy finds a bank book hidden in a pair of boxing gloves in the garage belonging to his dead brother and Nancy’s late husband Judah. Trying to impersonate his dead brother and get access to the money in Judah’s secret account is another thing altogether. The bank teller Margaret he tries to con into thinking he was Judah turns out to be a former lover of Judah. She agrees to help Andy gain access to the account if he will go out with her. But, he has to pretend he is Judah. Whack job or not, Andy will do it to get access to Judah’s money.
Shane has some serious issues this season. And why not, when his mother tried to leave him with her sister in the previous episode. Now, he’s taken to selling pot to his English teacher, telling Andy in one particularly thought provoking scene, “I’m a Botwin. We’re not responsible for anything we do.” Shane meets with his English teacher who plans to spend $4,000 for Shane’s pot only to have the teacher drive off with the pot and Shane penniless. Esteban’s goon Ignacio turns out to be the same goon who caused the death of Captain Roy Till’s lover last season and while Roy decides to pay a surprise visit to Nancy, ends up being tazed, pissing his pants and drug into the house.
When Nancy realizes Ignacio is Till’s target she has no other choice but to use the tazer on Ignacio, tying the both of them to her bed. She knows that no matter which one she would untie, they would kill the other and most likely her as well, so she turns to her Magic 8 Ball, which is no help. But thankfully Esteban arrives to check on her and he handles the situation. What we see as a result is Ignacio emerging from the bedroom alone, leaving us to the conclusion that Captain Roy Till is no longer a threat to anyone, especially himself. The final scene was bittersweet with Nancy and Esteban walking along the beach and Esteban pitching the Magic 8 Ball into the ocean, then cutting to Andy in the final scene at home putting the finishing touches on a baby swing that Esteban presented Nancy as a gift at the beginning of the episode.
As we saw in the first scenes of this episode there is definitely some sparks between Andy and Nancy, especially when Andy asks her to kiss him when he could tell it bothered her that he had sex with her sister. The look she gave him said it all, but she just had to remind him she was having a baby. It’ll be interesting to see who she ultimately ends up with: Andy, Esteban, or maybe no one at all??
Until Next Time!!
Happy Viewing!

Lily Allen – It’s Not Me, It’s You CD Review
Lily Allen: It’s Not Me, It’s You…
Lily Allen churns out some wicked tongue and cheek lyrics on her sophomore album “It’s Not Me, It’s You”.Although this review is somewhat late, the CD was released on Feb. 10th, earlier this year, I didn’t know much about this artist and am very glad I did some research.
I’ve been spinning the first hit single “The Fear” and have been watching my dance floor with keen interest. It was one of the patrons in the club that asked me for a different Lily Allen song, and I had to politely tell him I didn’t have what he asked for. The song he requested was “Fuck You“, which is now officially the second single to be released. “Not Fair” appears to be the third single as it is charting on the UK top 75 chart.
Let me start off by saying how blown away I was when I heard this CD. The music is fresh, innovative and most importantly POP. Kicking off this set is the elctro groove track “Everyone’s At It“, how could you not like a song that talks “about people puttin shit up their noses.” Absolutely brilliant.
Next up is the infectious “The Fear”, already cracking my top 5 on my dance

Lily Allen's First Single "The Fear"
chart, this song is sure to stay with you when it’s quite and you start humming the melody and not even realize it. The third track and single “Not Fair” is a bouncy little number that reminds me of songs from Johnny Cash. Tracks “I Could Say“, “Back To The Start“, and “Never Gonna Happen” are all good songs in their own right, but I find myself skipping to the big gem on this set, and that is “Fuck You“.
The second single is explicit sure, but it’s honest. Lyrics like “so you say, it’s not okay to be gay, well I think your just evil.” sends a positive message that rings true in todays culture. Topped off with a bouncy piano riff the sounds like the beginning of The Carpenter’s “Close To You”. I’m hoping they will release a dance remix of this very soon. The video for this song is just as clever. “Who’d Of Known” is a nice chiller song, with some cool organ synth and harpsichords planted in the background.

Sharp Witted Singer/Songwriter Lily Allen
The rest of the CD is not strong enough in my personal opinion. However I got the CD with the 2 bonus tracks and another gem similar to “Fuck You” is the very electronic “Fag Hag”. This song should get a formal release as it’s too good to just be a bonus track. Lyrics “I could be your fag hag, and you can be my gay”. Just made me have to hit the rewind button.
This CD will not disappoint, whether your working out at the Gym, or going on that long drive make sure you bring this one with you.

Nurse Jackie Season 1; Episode 5
Nurse Jackie Season 1; Episode 5
“Daffodil”
Well, fans, Nurse Jackie and staff are pulling the Night Shift in episode 5. Daughter Grace is still having emotional problems, which worries her. At work Jackie gives Zoey the run-down on night shift duties, deals with a stroke victim and his squabbling family and a ten-year-old girl comes to the ER with her Lupis afflicted mother. The girl claims her grandmother is coming to pick them up, which turns out not to be true. This poor girl is her Mom’s sole caregiver. Mom is admitted to ICU but Mrs. Akalitus won’t allow the girl to be with her mother in the ICU because she is underage, but of course, Jackie sneaks her in.
Dr. Cooper forms an unlikely bond with Eddie, much to the dismay of Jackie, who is in desperate need of some pain killers, but when she goes down to the Pharmacy, she finds Eddie there with Dr. Cooper enjoying a Quizno’s dinner. Dr. Cooper confesses to Eddie that Jackie can be kinda bitchy at times, but he grabbed her boob once, and she was cool with it. This did not sit too well with Eddie and even when Dr. Cooper explained that it was a neurological disorder, Eddie could see right through him. Momo has an unwelcome admirer in fellow nurse Thor, and tries to avoid him at all costs. Jackie is too busy to join Dr. O’Hara for dinner, so Zoey takes her place instead and O’Hara takes her to a 4-star restaurant, where the conversation gets a little uncomfortable until Zoey happens to mention that her father was in jail for manslaughter.
Stephanie is able to take her Mom home, and Jackie makes sure they don’t leave without a goodie bag from the pharmacy, and her cell number in case Stephanie ever has any problems with Mom. Jackie’s stroke patient’s family becomes to hard to handle and they don’t think she’s doing enough for her husband, so Jackie makes up some notecards for the man so he can tell his nagging wife to “Shut the F**K UP! Seriously.” Mrs. Akalitus accidentally tasers herself when she finds a taser lying about the hospital floor. Back at home Kevin informs Jackie that Grace had a complete meltdown when her pencil lead kept breaking, and receives a call on her cell from Stephanie that her Mom was having problems moving her arm. Jackie instructs her to take one of the Percocets (little blue pills) she gave her, cut 1 in half and give it to her with some juice. As we see Jackie talking Stephanie through the procedure, we see Jackie doing the same thing at home, and afterwards tells Stephanie, “She’ll be fine!”
Keep it here for your Nurse Jackie recaps every week.
Until Next Time!
