Nurse Jackie Gets Season 4, Numbers Down For Season 3

Nurse Jackie Season 3 was it a bummer?

Nurse Jackie Season 4 coming to Showtime Spring 2012

If you haven’t heard yet, Showtime has renewed Nurse Jackie for an upcoming 2012 4th Season. Despite the off numbers for the third season.  This should come as no surprise to hard core fans, although if they expect to get a fifth season, the writers seriously need to up their game.

Nurse Jackie Season 3 ended on such a low note, for the third season in a row, Edie Falco’s character come’s away clean (well almost!)

The seasons 12 episodes had a few good laughs, but to me it seemed like the season was not as relevant or funny as the previous two seasons. Showtime’s producer’s have promised that Nurse Jackie will encounter a lot of shit in the fourth season.

Her marriage is now on the rocks, but because Kevin had an affair. Wouldn’t it been the perfect time for Jackie to come clean with her affair with Eddie? Not yet anyways…

Her friendship with O’hara is going to be on the rocks, and sadly we will see less of Eve Best in the fourth season. We will however see more of Kelly. I’m not sure I like this idea.

Sadly we will now have a very long wait for the fourth season. So what did you like about Nurse Jackie’s third season? Will you be returning for a fourth???

Nurse Jackie Season 3: “Orchids and Salami” O’hara and Eddie?

Nurse Jackie Season 3, Episode 7 “Orchids and Salami”

Nurse Jackie Season 3 has been an up and down ride. Speculation about Tunie and Eddie dating were squashed and it is now apparent that the writers have something more interesting to present. It seems that it will be more interesting if Dr. O’hara (played by Eve Best) get’s a new love interest. Who? Our favorite resident pharmacist Eddie (played by Paul Schulze).

This is a superb idea because it will have a great impact on Jackie. I thought that maybe earlier in the season we were going to see a reuniting of Jackie and Eddie, but that wasn’t in the cards. Outside of the Nurse Jackie character it seems that the writers are finding it hard to put characters in new and interesting positions, more on that in a bit, let’s focus on the episode at hand.

Grace is awoken at 2am, and goes to her parents bedroom. They go downstairs and we have a hot chocolate moment. Grace is working on 10,000 saints and their gruesome deaths. Kevin and Jackie send her back to bed as she reminds them that she is eleven years old. This was a nice overview of what life is like for Kevin and Jackie.

Jackie is having a smoke outside the diner and we see her go in to see Bill the pill pusher. She tells him “$200 dollars for 5 pills, really?” He reminds her that she was given 6 pills. This storyline is really starting to not make sense to me. She works in a hospital with a human pharmacist, surely she could get her oxy fix cheaper?

We see Zoey working on her blog “Nursing it, Yo.” She has trouble typing and spelling, and this for me was the lol moment in the show.

Now back to what I was mentioning earlier in this post. Dr. Cooper has been dumbed-down so much it’s hard to even watch him anymore. The only thing Sam got to do this week was be outside of the diner when Jackie came out after her deal with Bill. The two have a small conversation and Jackie fakes a phone call to get rid of him.

This show has a great cast, why not do something with them? It seems to me again and again that the writers just don’t know what to do. I may piss a lot of people of by saying this, but for me if Nurse Jackie Season 3 doesn’t start getting better, it may be on life support. While I haven’t seen specific ratings for the show, I can’t imagine it being as good as the first two seasons.

So what are you thoughts, am I missing something here? Are you still watching Nurse Jackie Season 3 or have you tuned into something else?

Nurse Jackie Season 3: “When The Saints Go” Review

Nurse Jacie Season 3 "When the Saints Go"Nurse Jackie Season 3 Review of “When the Saints Go”

Now at the mid way point of the Nurse Jackie Season 3, one has to ask if the writers of this great show, are starting to run out of ideas. I have been a Nurse Jackie fan since the first season and would have expected the show to start gearing up with better plot lines.

The episode which originally aired on May 2, 2011. (Yes i am a week behind in the update…) had me scratching my head a little.

It starts when Fiona googles Lucifer. Jackie then discovers that she has also searched devil, hell and Justin Bieber. Now I’m not sure that the goal here was to poke fun at Bieber, but it was interesting to say the least. At the hospital, Gloria gets the unfortunate news that all the statues are being taken back by the church. This was the most humorous part of the show.

We get introduced to a new character by the name of Kelly. Why oh why would they want to do this? There are more then enough secondary characters on the show, that don’t get enough screen time IMO. Kelly seems to be this suck up that is planted to get under Jackie’s skin. Gloria tells her to be nice, and through the whole episode this is what we see. I suspect that in upcoming episodes we are gonna see Jackie tell him off in a way that only Jackie can!

The rest of the episode kinda tailed off with the ending scene being a little bit disturbing. Kevin, Tunie and the kids are all playing around the kitchen table with Jackie looking in.

I hope the writers are planning something, once a promising season is now for me at least, getting a little stale.

What are you thoughts on Nurse Jackie Season 3?

Nurse Jackie, Season 2 – Nurse Jackie

Nurse Jackie Season 3 Episodes 4 and 5 Reviews…Funny?

Nurse Jackie's Blue Pill Addiction OxycontinNurse Jackie Season 3 Episode 4 “Mitten” and Episode 5 “Rat Falls”

So now we are getting to the half way point in season 3 and it ‘s time to catch you up to date. Nurse Jackie is now officially a drug addict. In Episode 5 we learn that her stash that she stole from Bill the epileptic drug dealer has dwindled. She meets with Bill and they do the transaction.

I see this question a lot. What are the big blue pills that Nurse Jackie takes? Ding Ding, Oxycontin. She pays two hundred dollars for what appears to be 6 pills. Remembering the big bag she took in season 2, It boggles the mind to think of how much that was worth. I know the mentioned it, but not a fact that just rolls out of the brain.

So this is the big storyline this season. If you ask me, now that Eddie and Jackie are no longer together. There doesn’t seem to be as much danger or fun (Zoey catching the two) as in the past seasons.

In Episode 4 “Mitten” we got duped as we were supposed to think that Kevin finally leaves Jackie. We later find out in the episode that Kevin had cleared out the closet for a clothing drive. Jackie has to rush to the drive, to find a stash of Oxycontin in a mitten, thus the episode title. This was for the must part an amusing episode, however I personally am finding some things a bit stale. When we were introduced to Tunie the previous week, I thought we would get to see more of her but we only get a brief one line or so from her.

Dr. O’hara and Nurse Jackie have patched things up and I couldn’t be more happier. The two have great dialog together and now with the drug addiction seems to have a little more attention as well!

Dr. Coop is told by his mom’s that they are getting a divorce. Special guest appearances from Swoozie Kurtz and Judith Light. We get a little tease that maybe Judith Light’s character is cheating on Swoozie Kurtz but they never explored it. What a waste of talent, but then again this is Edie Falco’s show, but really they could have had a few more scenes to explore this.

Are you finding this season of Nurse Jackie to be at the top? Hopefully things will get improving, they are starting to run out of episodes. Anyone catch the commercial for Weeds and The Big C? :)

Nurse Jackie Season 3: “Enough Rope”

Nurse Jackie Season 3 Kevin and JackieNurse Jackie Season 3: Enough Rope

After the season started with such promise, I was a little bit disappointed that last nights episode, was a tad on the slow side. Jackie and Kevin meet with a nun to take Fiona to her first day in Grace’s school. Not much time is spent on this as the episode quickly whips us to All Saints Memorial.

I would have liked to see a touch more on the school, but seeing the girls hand in hand into the schools entrance will have to do.

This week the hospital’s action was really slow. In what could have been a really funny moment. Zoey goes to Gloria with a complaint. Maternity keeps stealing all the good gloves from ER. Gloria tells her to steal them back. Umm, this could have been so much more funnier. The scene ends with Zoey jumping rope, and for sure you would’ve thought that we’d see Gloria jumping the rope like Zoey. But it never happened :(

Other scenes that were a miss, Eddie tells Jackie that he can’t keep lying to Kevin. Why oh why are we still on this? The love triangle has been going strong since the first season, and quite frankly I wish they would just have the major reveal to Kevin and let the shit hit the fan. Why keep teasing us week in and week out?

On the funnier side of Nurse Jackie Season 3, we got to see Jackie do what Jackie does best. She sideswipes a skater boy right in front of the hospital. This was classic Nurse Jackie!

It looks like the feud between O’hara is coming to a close. In a great restaurant scene we get to see Jackie confront O’hara, and you could tell that the riff will be coming to an end. Speaking of Eve Best, what’s up with her hairdo this season? Not a fan…

The ending scene is probably the most predictable of the season. We find out that Kevin is stuck with Jackie, and kisses him. All this happens in front of Eddie. Jackie works her scheme over, and it closes.

Again, Nurse Jackie Season 3 episode 2 and I’m starting to scratch my head. It seems though we had a lot of fun with Dr. Cooper, his role keeps diminishing. Let’s see more of Thor, like maybe his back story.

So what do you think, is this season although early, starting to disappoint?

Nurse Jackie Season 3: Game On Series Premiere Starts With A Bang!

Nurse Jackie Season 3 "Game On"

Nurse Jackie fans were not disappointed in the season 3 opener “Game On”. Showtime’s med dramedy starring Edie Falco from The Sopranos. If you haven’t gotten a chance to see this great show, you don’t know what your missing. Although only running at a half hour, this show manages to be explosive from start to finish!

Nurse Jackie Season 3 opens where season 2 leaves off, with Jackie being accused of being a drug addict. “Blow Me” she says as the title credits roll. Here we go, off on another adventure and “Game On” didn’t disappoint. Jackie and Kevin get into a pretty heated argument right off the start. The acting is real and very emotional. Jackie tries to worm herself out, by using a receipt that Kevin gave her. What I found interesting is that we all know how Jackie can scramble to get out of things, and Edie plays this to perfection.

Off to the hospital to see our gang in action. This is where the drama and intensity gets going into high gear. Zoey confesses that she has finally had sex with Lenny, and you could totally see the disgust on Thor’s face. I love Zoey’s character, I find her innocence and dimwit to be very amusing. Thor has been a great addition to the cast, but we still miss Mo.

Kevin finally does something he hasn’t done in the two previous seasons, and manages to go the hospital to visit Jackie. Nurse Jackie fans must have been on the edge of their seats as I was. Considering no one in the hospital knows that she is married, this made for some wicked TV.

Did you notice the guest star Gregory Jbara? Gregory is best known for his role in “In & Out” playing Walter, Kevin Kline’s brother. He also appeared in the Broadway version of “Victor Victoria”. I knew I had recognized him from something. On tonight’s episode he plays a father that has brought his son into the hospital, and his son can’t be saved. Oh what a moment!

The tension between Eddie and Jackie was also fueled. Dr. Copper now knows about the affair, as Zoey comes to tell Jackie that her husband is wanting to see her. I can’t believe they waited two seasons to pull this off. But it was brilliant none the less.

O’hara’s character goes in to the chapel where Jackie is laying down in a pew. This was one of the tensest moment of the show. She tells Jackie “you broke my heart”. Oh how I hope they don’t keep this strain between the two characters for long!

The most fun moment on “Game On” was with a meeting between Jackie and Akalitus. The way Gloria kept up with the phone routine had me laughing so hard.

The ending of this episode has Jackie and her girls routing for Kevin at a baseball game. So this begs the question how much more wild is this going to get? We will have to wait until next week! Bring it on!

Nurse Jackie to start on March 28

Nurse Jackie Returns on March 28thFinally some good news for Nurse Jackie!

It’s been a long time for us Nurse Jackie fans, and we are happy to say that Season 3 will be back on Showtime starting March 28th. So what will this season bring for Jackie and her gang?

Season two was filled with some of the best moments in television history. I can’t stress enough how much I adore this show. Edie Falco and gang never make my Monday Nights blue. My wish would be that they make this show an hour long, even though they accomplish so much in just it’s short format…an hour would be awesome, don’t you think?

One thing is for sure we will most definately be watching!
