RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4 Climaxed without a winner

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4 episode 13 The Final Three ***WARNING SPOILER ALERT***

April 23, 2012.

So tonight and Rupaul’s drag race season four we were treated to an inside look at how a music video is made. The final three including RuPaul got to make a new music video for Ru’s 2010 CD “Glamazon”.
Included in tonight’s telecast was season two’s Tyra Sanchez and season three’s winner Raja. Tyra and Raja were all too happy to announce that the final three would be acting with Rupaul herself. Each of the final three got to spend some time with the two previous season winners to get coaching and acting lessons and also a little drag motherly advice. While Tyra and Raja day and add any suspense to the show it still was nice to see the two together.
Analyzing the final threes performance:

Phi Phi O’Hara was throwing her usual shade and continually throwing Sharon under the bus. Chad the most professional and out of the three continued to shine and Sharon had trouble with your dancing steps.
The most fun of the show was watching Rupaul, do her best Starboogie performance. RuPaul slapped jihad around like a rag doll we could only wish she would have done that to Phi Phi. Phi Phi got sprayed by Ru’s Glamazon Enlarge Spray, while Sharon got repeatedly punched in the gut. For my money Sharon won this hands down although Chad was impressive as well.
Analyzing the final three is runway:

Phi Phi O’Hara: the look was hot but wasn’t so crazy about the makeup. Cheap eye jewelry on top of the crease is just not a good look on her. Her shoes were cute, the talk was tight but for our money she looked like she belonged in any average nightclub.
Chad Michaels: two words, ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. She worked that versaci like it was going out of style.
Sharon Needles: Gave us the goth that we crave, her medusa like fingers and spooky eye’s were the right touch that totally defines who she really is.
RUPAUL’S SHOCKING TWIST: in the first ever for the show Rupaul’s announced that the winner for season for will not be crowned until next week’s reunion show. So they are you have that it folks! Geenah a shocked to say the least, at the end of the show we were left by telling the show via Facebook or Twitter to say who the winner should be. Is this American Idol? Now the public gets to choose the next American drag superstar? Tune in next week to see who gets the crown and the $100,000.

So Did RuPaul Fuck it up, or is she really torn who should win?

Rupaul’s Drag U Season 2 Sneak Peek “Lesbians Gone Wild”

Rupaul's Drag U Season 2We are so happy to see that LOGO has picked up Rupaul’s Drag U for a second season. After digesting the first two episodes we have noticed the many improvements Rupaul has made. The possibility is to have this show as well oiled as Drag Race.

Here are some noticeable changes, Gone are the marks paddles instead we get a pick envelope handed to Rupaul to reveal the winner. Now the contestants are actually competing for a cash prize as well! This made me remember a show from the late 70′s called The $1.98 Beauty Show. If you ever get a chance to watch it in reruns, it’s hilarious!

Rupaul has also given more for the Lady Bunny to do. Lady Bunny is an absolute scream and adds so much camp and comedy. So far the professors have been Shanel (twice) Raven, Ongina, and Manila Luzon (twice). The drag superstars get more to do in this season as well. As with Drag Race, Rupaul has some sound bytes from his new CD “Glamazon” which we reviewed here last month. Don’t forget all the added gloss, and the updated Dragulator 2.0.

Sneak Peak: For the third episode of Drag U season 2:

Three butch lesbians enroll at Drag U to explore their feminine side. Drag Professors Ongina, Raven and Jujubee transform these manly ladies into femme drag divas! Glee’s “Coach Beiste”Dot Jones guest stars. What a great idea, to have Dot Jones guest star, she is the total package, and it’s nice to see her outside of Glee.

So Drag Race fans, are you watching Drag U? Do like the changes in season 2? Are you ready to Draguate Bitches?

First Listen Rupaul’s “Glamazon” Summer’s First Anthem!

Rupaul's Glamazon Hits Stores May 3.

Rupaul’s “Glamazon” First Listen!

It’s been a busy two years for Rupaul, releasing “Champion” two years ago, starring in Rupaul’s Drag Race and Rupaul’s Drag U, Now comes the newest project “Glamazon”. While I was a big fan of “Champion” I was wondering where Ru would take us for our next dance extravaganza.

The CD starts with the track “The Beginning” with crowd cheers and synth stabs, you just know this record is going to kick it in to overdrive. The bouncy synths and the memorable lyrics “This is the beginning of the rest of your life” makes this easily a choice contender for a single. I couldn’t get the melody out of my head after the first listen. What a great start.

Track 2. “Click Clack (Make Dat Money)” This is a way different song for Ru. Trumpets memorable from the 60′s motown area. “Where My Girls At?” Fabulous bump and grind song. One thing to remember this song doesn’t take itself to seriously, but it’s fun!

Track 3 “Glamazon” This is a big dance track, using Sashay Shantay Heather on the Runway one can’t help but think that maybe Manila Luzon or Raja had a hand in helping Ru with this track. He’s definitely paying a tribute to Rupaul’s Drag Race. I wonder if this track will be featured next season hmmm?

Track 4 “I Bring The Beat” A Sci Fi Romp. This is a fun song. A mid-tempo track that will please fans of dubstep and electro.

Track 5 “Superstar” is a great pop ballad. This song has a great catch to it. It’s gonna make one hell of a remix. If the tempo picks up just a touch, this is going to be the anthem of summer.

Track 6 “Responsitrannity” This song starts off kind of slow, then it gets so breezy. This is one of those songs that you can blast while driving with the top down.

Track 7 “Live Forever” OMG house music of the 90′s. This is definitely Rupaul doing what Rupaul does best. I dare you not to shake your booty to this!

Track 8 “Get Your Rebel On” This is another fun electro track.

Track 9″(Here It Comes) Round Again. One thing people seem to forget is that Rupaul has a great voice. This song showcases that in a great way. Breezy pop, light and fun.

The CD closes out with a mid tempo power ballad “If I Dream”, A song that keeps lifting you up as you go along. This almost sounds like a song Ru would release if he was retiring, but nonetheless it’s a befitting way to end.

While newer Rupaul fans wont remember “Shade Shady”, or the songs from early in his career. This is a great CD. I thought “Champion” was good but “Glamazon” really shows Rupaul in his/her finest light! From Drag Race, to Drag U, to Dance clubs all over the world it’s easy to see Rupaul as a “Glamazon”

The CD is released on May 3, 2011. Make sure to download your copy from I-tunes!

Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 3: Halleloo We Have A Winner!

Rupaul's Drag Race Season 3 Newest Queen Raja GeminiRupaul’s Drag Season 3 and the winner is…

On Monday nights grand finale of Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 3 we finally got our newest Drag Superstar. Although the outcome was predicted a long time ago. I can safely say that overall I wasn’t disappointed. Raja Gemini is your reigning drag superstar, and from the earliest episodes was clear that she was going to dominate.

So this week the final three had to take dancing lessons to be cast in Rupaul’s “Champion” video. One thing we can say for Ru is that she certainly knows how to milk her catalog of music! “Champion” was released a couple of years ago, but the good news for Rupaul fans is that a new CD is on the way entitled “Glamazon” which will be released on May 3. The new CD offers 10 new tracks including “Superstar” which was used in Drag Race a few episodes ago.

My heart goes out for Manila Luzon though, I thought she just didn’t bring it enough for the finale. When she was performing in that lovely green dress, the dress  just got the best of her. She couldn’t move in the thing. Raja played it smarter imo. Raja knows how to work a runway, and knows how to sew. Let this be a lesson for the Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 4 contestants. Learn the best makeup tricks, learn how to use a hot glue gun, and learn how to make your own clothing.

Alexis Mateo was a great contestant, but as the judges felt and other contestants, the look is just too outdated. Being a pageant drag queen can only get you so far in this type of competition.

So another season of Rupaul’s Drag Race goes into the TV vaults. My husband and I have had a blast watching this show, and can’t wait for a season 4. We at least got confirmation that Rupaul’s Drag U will premier sometime in June.

So Congrats to Raja for winning the third season of drag race! What do you think, were you a Raja fan? Did the right queen win? Well at least it didn’t F**K it up!

Manila Luzon Backstage at the NewNowNext Awards 2011

Last nights opening act at the NewNowNext awards featured some of our favorite drag queens, from Rupaul’s Drag Race. The girls seem to have a fun time of it, as they performed to Backstreet Boys “Everybody”.

I’m not sure how I found this, I was digging on Youtube. But Manila Luzon has her own channel, and it is fierce to say the least. I’m not sure if this peek backstage was very flattering, but it does feature our favorite gals from Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 3.

One question where is Raja? Shangela was in a lead position? Hmm. The reunion is going to be one riot.

Anyways here’s the video I found, it’s pretty cool! Thanks for this peek Manila gurrl you are rockin it out!
