First off:  YAY FOR BETTY!!!  She finally got her editor’s job at Mode, even though Penny Meadows had to die in order for her to get the position.  I thought SNL’s Rachel Dratch turned in a hilarious role playing Penny, and her twin sister Mindy.  After the whole Henry fiasco, Betty may have lost a boyfriend in Matt, but also gained him as a boss after daddy gave him the position!!  Should make for some interesting storylines for next season.  I thought Betty and Gio made a good couple, but what do I know.  Good to see Marc staying at Mode, even though he still remains Wilhemina’s assistant, losing the editor’s job to Betty and turning down the job at Vogue.   And speaking of “Willie”:  after attempting to blackmail Claire with the whole “having an affair with Carl and getting knocked up story” just to get Claire’s job,  we are left to wonder what “Willie’s” consequences will be, now that we know Carl knew about the baby all along anyway.   Will she get back the money Connor stole from the company so she can plot her revenge,  and just WHO did she see in the next room of her apartment that surprised her so badly that she would drop her glass?  Was it Connor?

The one I feel the most for in all of this has to be Daniel.  Can this character know no happiness at all???  Now that Molly lost her battle with cancer, what will become of him??  Will he return to his playboy ways??  Will he just shut everyone out and put everything he has into the success of Mode??  Will there be a Daniel/Betty love story??  These two are so close,  and have always been there for one another, I don’t see why not???   Maybe I’m wrong.  And, finally…we know now that Claire never had the abortion she said she had when she got pregnant with Carl’s baby.  Instead we saw what was adoption records that she was burning in the fireplace.  Adoption papers for a baby boy!!!  Could it be that Daniel is not a Meade after all??  Maybe the baby was Matt,  and he was adopted by Carl and Victoria to be raised as their own???

And worst of all:  the “tools” at ABC are planning on retooling  it’s 2009-2010 schedule to move Betty to FRIDAY night following that lame nanny show!!!  Could this be the end of  Ugly Betty??  We’ll all have to stay tuned to find out!!!

Adam Lambert performs with Kiss on American Idol finale.

Well, another season of  American Idol has come and gone.  Your winner, after an alleged record setting almost 100,000,000 votes,  is:  THE GUY WHO ISN’T ADAM LAMBERT!!!  Oh,  yeah,  Kris Allen is his name.  Judge Simon Cowell had said that if Adam Lambert did not make it to the “Finals”, then it would have been one of the biggest upsets in the show’s history.  Well, Adam, of course made it to the finals along with season-long  “dark horse”,  um,  what was his name again?  Oh, yeah, Kris Allen.  Well,  after sitting through almost 2 hours of  musical guests and performances by the  “Final 10″, who will be coming to a town near you, we got the results.  Adam Lambert did not win.  Simon Cowell himself,  did not even stand with Randy, Paula or Kara for the ovation when Kris Allen’s name was announced as the winner Wednesday night.  I could see the look of disappointment on Simon’s face as he sat there.  This show is not about who has the best talent anymore.  I cannot wait to hear what Simon has to say.  I would not blame him if he just walked off the show, period.  Let’s see the other three judges handle it without him.  We know Kara will be back next season.

I know there are certain people and websites out there that are loving every minute of  Adam Lambert’s  loss, and you know who you are!   If  the fact that Adam Lambert is “Allegedly” homosexual, or the pictures that surfaced of him on the internet had any effect on the outcome,  we’ll probably never know,  but  it definately was NOT because of his singing that he came in second.  There were two highlights in Wednesday night’s show for me.  Adam Lambert singing with rock icons  KISS and Adam Lambert singing with the legendary  group “QUEEN”.   But, for the most part,  the usual time wasting drivel the show is known for.  As host Ryan Seacrest said at the end of Tuesday night’s performance finale,  “Wednesday’s show will go long, so those of you who record it, make sure you set your DVRs accordingly”.   And, of course, it went long.  Again.

Kris Allen may be 2009’s American Idol,  and I wish him every success,  but Adam, if you ever see this blog, coming in second ain’t so bad.   Can you say Clay Aiken???

And the winner is! NOT ADAM LAMBERT!!

Don’t get me wrong by any means.  I will be right in front of my television set for the Season 6 premier,  and even though I thought this season held its own compared to the previous four seasons, it still left somewhat of a bitter aftertaste in my mouth (not unlike drinking “TAB”) when it was all over.   I am glad to see the Dave Williams (David Dash, if you prefer) “seeking revenge for the death of his wife and daughter”  storyline come to an end.  Though I thought it to be anti-climatic, the  fact he is alive and back in a mental health facility where he belongs, leaves the door open to return in future episodes.  The appearance of Edie’s ghost appearing to Dave,  ball-busting him even from the grave, made me realize I already miss her.  Though the character was going nowhere, she still added a bit of spice to the show.   We have Tom going back to college to major in Mandarin Chinese so he’ll be more desirable when and if he goes back to work.   Lynette, going back to the doctor thinking her cancer is back, only to find out she is pregnant.  Again.  With Twins.  AGAIN!  “Are you sure it’s not cancer?” she asks the doctor.  Then there’s Bree, Orson and Carl.  Can you say “dysfunctional”?  Why did the show stop at killing off Edie?   Would anyone have missed Orson?  A Carl and Bree affair?  It could be interesting, except for Carl’s track record. We’ll see.  A family reunion/picnic with Carlos’ family winds up with Carlos and Gabby becoming foster parents to the granddaughter of Carlos’ dying Aunt Anna.  The same Aunt who took Carlos and his mother in when Carlos’ Dad ran off.  So, Carlos feels it would only be right, since he and Gabby have been so blessed (this season).  The granddaughter has the ability to wrap men, and as we saw, all three Scavo Boys, around her little finger.  We also learn the granddaughter has a “secret” which Aunt Anna says Carlos and Gabby will find out “soon enough”.   Has Gabby finally met her match? What ever happened to Karen and her sister Roberta (guest star Lily Tomlin, who, in my opinion, should have had more air time this season)? Did they help the idiot cops finally make their case concrete against Dave?

Finally, what can be said about Mike,  Katherine, Susan and Jackson?   Mike proposes to Katherine  after learning Jackson and Susan were getting married.  Mike was not in on Jackson and Susan’s reasons for getting married, but Katherine was.  We know Mike still loves Susan, and vice-versa.  And so does Katherine.  We know Mike leaves Katherine alone at the airport waiting for their flight to elope in Vegas when he sees Dave’s video.  We already know where Dave ends up.   Fast forward 2 months, in church. Who is  the mystery bride, face covered by a veil, that Mike is about to marry in a church  in the final scene?  Was it Katherine?  Was it Susan?  I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Jackson.  Or was it?  If  the mystery bride was Susan, where was MJ?  If it was Katherine, why was Carl at the church, and if  Mike and Katherine were eloping to Vegas, why get married in church? Why were Bob and Lee not there?  Where was Andrew and Justin?  Why was Mike unsure if he made the right choice, as Mary Alice said before the screen goes black?   Which “charatcters from seasons past”  (if any) will return to Wisteria Lane next season?  Will we find out season 5 was all a dream?

These and other questions will be answered on the thrilling season 6 premier.
