Rare John Moll PrintBeautiful Color Print entitled "Lifting Fog"Skipjack on the Chesapeake Bay. Framed, with wood and double Matt.Measures : 16" High x 13" WideFamed Artist John Moll 1908 -1991.A native of Pennsylvania, educated there and the School of Industrial Arts in Philadelphia.Also the Wilmington Academy of Art in Wilmington, Delaware.Mr. Moll was an instructor at the Wilmington Academy until WWII. He also worked as a draftsman for Wilmington Shipbuilding Company, The Dravo Corp.Mr. Moll worked in pastel, pencil, charcoal, oils and watercolors. After moving to Oxford, Maryland, in 1946, he began painting scenes of life around the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries. He became famous for his Chesapeake Bay Scenes, Skipjacks, log canoes and bugeyes. He also created stone lithographs. Mr. Moll was senior warden of the Espiscopal Church of the Holy Trinity, a charter member of the Academy of the Arts in Easton, Maryland and Rehoboth Beach Delaware Art League.In 1976 Mr. Moll was awarded an honorary Doctorate by Salisbury State College in Salisbury, Maryland.
